Greeting from sunny Florida, a welcome break from the Windy City's current gloomy weather condition!
I'm happily enjoying the Florida sun at the NSSEA/School Equipment Expo here in Orlando while preparing to dive into what promises to be a very busy show for my client. And speaking of clients, we all went out to such a phenomenal restaurant last night that I had to share. The waiter was outstanding (and an outstanding salesperson as well--we took almost all of his extra suggestions for appetizers, wine and desserts!), the atmosphere was elegant and quiet (well, except for us, of course!) and the food was out-of-this-world-far-exceeds-expectations amazing!
The restaurant was Roy's, a Hawaiian steak and seafood place, with heavy emphasis on the seafood. Now, I don't eat meat to speak of, but I do love a good fish dish with a creative sauce. And every item on the menu offered such unexpected taste combinations that I was in the pleasant situation of simply having to close my eyes and point at something because everything sounded so delicious.
And I didn't go wrong. The gorgonzola- and spinach-encrusted swordfish was the perfect flavor combination--the heavier taste of the fish was complimented nicely by that strong, piquant gorgozola topper. We all overate and loved every minute of it!
I also suspect that this chain overtrains its waiters; our waiter James was knowledgeable not just about the menu, but he had also obviously been trained in sales and customer service. He dexterously walked that delicate line between relating to our party and being unobtrusive. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
